Letter from MSVU Students' Union Regarding MSVUFA Strike

Dear members,

Last night, the Campus Bulletin sent an email announcing that negotiations have failed to reach an agreement. Consequently, a strike by the MSVU Faculty Association is scheduled to commence today.

MSVU Students' Union (MSVUSU) affirms our unwavering commitment to supporting the rights of all unions to engage in collective bargaining and labour action.

Our primary focus remains on the well-being and needs of our students. We want to assure you that we are here to support you and ensure your needs are met, particularly during times of uncertainty, such as a faculty strike.

Please visit our web page dedicated to supporting students during this challenging situation. Let's support each other | MSVU Students' Union (msvusu.ca)

We are in the early planning stages of a town hall focused on safe and effective community mobilization skills. The panelists for this town hall are community members who engage in various types of activism, and their names will be announced soon, along with the date, time and location.

It is important to note that the MSVUSU does not censor our societies; they are free to hold and express their views independently. It's vital to recognize that the views expressed by any given society do not necessarily reflect the official stance of the Students' Union.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely. Our commitment to advocating for the best interests of our students remains steadfast throughout this process.

Yours,

MSVU Students' Union
