Education Representative 

The Education Representative is a member of the Mount Saint Vincent University Students' Union (MSVUSU) Student Representative Council (SRC) who is concerned with supporting Bachelor of Education students. This position is restricted to students enrolled with The Faculty of Education. 

This is a stipend compensated director role, receiving up to $300/semester, depending on engagement and attendance. This is a Summer Term appointment with a term starting immediately after appointment and continuing until the conclusion of the fall by-election. 

As Education Representative, you would provide supports to Members enrolled in the Bachelor of Education program on all related matters (within reasonable limits), develop and execute a consultation plan, bring forward your constituents’ concerns to the SRC and Academic Caucus, and serve on various committees. You would also connect with the Dean of Education, to communicate concerns, and seek their expertise and feedback to support your work. 

You would be responsible for education advocacy programming, creating at least one seminar, workshop, presentation, or event per semester. You would review materials as needed and support the Vice President of Communications' advisor when they write on topics related to education advocacy. 

This position requires you to be a MSVU student enrolled in at least 0.5 credits, one audit course, or a thesis in either Fall or Summer terms, and to be in good standing with MSVU. You must hold or be willing to obtain Mental Health First Aid, Waves of Change (Bystander Intervention) training and non-Indigenous candidates must complete Indigenous Canada training within 12 weeks (about 3 months) of assuming office.

Indigenous Representative

The Indigenous Representative is an elected member of the Mount Saint Vincent University Students' Union (MSVUSU) Student Representative Council (SRC) who advocates for Indigenous students. This position is restricted to students who identify as Indigenous.

This is a stipend compensated director role, receiving up to $300/semester, depending on engagement and attendance. This is a Summer Term appointment with a term starting immediately after appointment and continuing until the conclusion of the fall by-election.

As Indigenous Representative, you would provide supports to Indigenous Members on all related matters (within reasonable limits), develop and execute a consultation plan, bring forward your constituents’ concerns to the SRC and Advocacy Caucus, and serve on various committees. You would also connect with the Special Advisor to MSVU on Indigenous Affairs, to communicate concerns, and seek their expertise and feedback to support your work.

Transfer Students' Representative

The Transfer Students' Representative is a member of the Mount Saint Vincent University Students' Union (MSVUSU) Student Representative Council (SRC) who supports transfer students. This position is restricted to Transfer students.

This is a stipend compensated director role, receiving up to $300/semester, depending on engagement and attendance. This is a Summer Term appointment with a term starting immediately after appointment and continuing until the conclusion of the fall by-election.

As Transfer Students' Representative, you would provide supports to transfer Members on all related matters (within reasonable limits), develop and execute a consultation plan, bring forward your constituents’ concerns to the SRC and Academic Caucus, and serve on various committees.

You would also connect with the Transfer Student Coordinator, to communicate concerns, and seek their expertise and feedback to support your work.

You would be responsible for transfer student's advocacy programming, creating at least one seminar, workshop, presentation, or event per semester. You would review materials as needed and support the Vice President of Communications' advisor when they write on topics related to transfer student's advocacy.

This position requires you to be a MSVU student enrolled in at least 0.5 credits, one audit course, or a thesis in either Fall or Summer terms, and to be in good standing with MSVU. You must hold or be willing to obtain Mental Health First Aide, Waves of Change (Bystander Intervention) training, and non-Indigenous candidates are also required to complete the Indigenous Canada training. within 12 weeks (about 3 months) of assuming office.
