ELECTIONS COORDINATOR
The Elections Coordinator is responsible for ensuring fair, transparent, and efficient elections within the organization. This role involves overseeing all aspects of the election process, including organizing debates and speeches, coordinating polling stations, ensuring voting accessibility, certifying and announcing results, and enforcing campaign rules. The goal is to uphold the election process's integrity and promote active participation among members.

Additional stipends may be provided for other election-related activities (e.g., referenda, by-elections).
Reporting and Supervision: Reports to the Administrative Assistant & Governance Secretary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:

Oversee the entire election process, ensuring adherence to all rules and regulations.

Certify and announce election results.
-
Organize and chair an election appeals committee.
-
Maintain impartiality and eliminate personal bias.
-
Serve as the main contact for candidates and students regarding election queries.

Collaborate with the Administrative Assistant & Governance Secretary and ITSS to ensure efficient voting systems.

Host election speeches and results presentations.
Other Duties:
-
Approve campaign materials, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness.

Organize debates, speeches, and forums for candidates.

Ensure voting accessibility for all members.
-
Create and distribute election materials, both online and physical.
-
Develop and distribute nomination packages.
-
Coordinate and manage polling stations, including scheduling, training, and technology provision.

Recruit and manage volunteers for polling stations.
-
Schedule and organize campaign speeches and debates.
-
Ensure video recording and publication of campaign activities.
-
Enforce campaign rules and regulations.
-
Liaise with the Administrative Assistant & Governance Secretary and other executive team members.

Create and distribute election advertising materials.

Lead the Elections Committee in various capacities.

Provide a detailed election report and suggest by-law changes.

Required Qualifications:
Education:

Must be a university student not attending MSVU.
Experience:

No prior experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple individuals in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Office 365, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Canva, and social media platforms.
