MSVUSU BURSARY PROJECT

The MSVU Students' Union is inspired by the community mobilization efforts in Halifax to raise awareness about the ongoing genocide of Palestinian people in Gaza and the Occupied West Bank. To best capture the spirit of these local, grassroots initiatives and honor MSVU students impacted by war and violence in other regions, this one-year/one-time CAD 12,475 bursary intends to help provide safe housing to an MSVU student affected by ongoing or recent conflicts anywhere in the world.

Our team has made a deliberate effort to include various students in our proposal process: students with direct experiences of modern conflict, indirect experiences through family members, and backgrounds in community activism. We sincerely appreciate all the feedback we received to help produce our approved proposal to the MSVU President's Office.

The Students' Union encourages any applicants learning English as an additional language to email the Vice President of Communications (sucomm@msvu.ca) if further support is required to complete their essay. Additional support through our partnership with a local non-profit organization is available if the recipient needs assistance securing off-campus housing.

The application deadline is August 27 at 12:00 ADT. Please ensure all applications are submitted before this date and time.

The Students' Union extends its heartfelt thanks to MSVU for supporting this one-time bursary through the Access & Impact Fund. Our team hopes to continue to build relationships across campus and Halifax to work toward the best service possible for our students!"

Please download the above application package and use Adobe Acrobat to complete it, or print the document to complete it. Then, submit your finished application package to subursaryproject@msvu.ca before August 27 at noon ADT.

If you need support, please feel free to contact our team at students.union@msvu.ca or sucomm@msvu.ca.
